Application of Molybdenum and Tungsten in Glass and Ceramic Industry
Metal molybdenum and metal tungsten products have excellent high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, good electrical and thermal conductivity, and are not easy to color glass. These characteristics make them an ideal material for internal components of glass furnaces. So, molybdenum and tungsten products are often used in various glass kilns and other high-temperature furnaces.
The working principle of the glass electric melting furnace is to use molybdenum electrodes for electric heating. The glass is electrified at high temperature to generate Joule heat to melt the glass. Various specifications of molybdenum rods and plate electrodes can meet the needs of various electric melting furnaces.
Therefore, molybdenum and tungsten products are widely used in daily glass, optical glass, microcrystalline glass, glass fiber, ceramic fiber, thermal insulation materials, rare earth industry and other fields.
Molybdenum and tungsten products used in glass furnace and ceramic furnace are:
- Molybdenum Electrode:
Molybdenum electrodes are widely used in the electrode system of glass kilns due to their excellent conductivity and high temperature resistance. They can withstand high temperatures and maintain a stable heating effect, realize the efficient conversion of electrical energy into thermal energy, and ensure the continuity and stability of the glass melting process.
- Molybdenum Crucible, Tungsten Crucible and Heating Element:
They are mainly used in the production of quartz glass. Molybdenum crucibles have excellent high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance, and can remain stable at high temperatures without softening or deformation. This enables the crucible to withstand extreme temperatures and chemical corrosion during the glass melting process, ensuring uniform heating and stable flow of the molten glass.
- Molybdenum Plates and Rods:
Molybdenum plates and rods have good mechanical strength and plasticity, and are easy to process into high-temperature furnace structural components of various shapes and sizes to meet the design requirements of different glass furnaces. During the maintenance and upgrade of the furnace, molybdenum plates can also be used as replacement parts to extend the service life of the furnace while improving the quality and production efficiency of glass products.
