As of August 1, 2025, molybdenum prices have been on an upward trend. Domestic ferromolybdenum and molybdenum concentrate prices have both climbed, while international molybdenum oxide and ferromolybdenum prices have also increased.
Domestic Market
- Ferromolybdenum Price: 60% ferromolybdenum prices range from RMB 273,000 to RMB 280,000 per ton, a recent increase.
- Molybdenum Concentrate Price: 45%-50% molybdenum concentrate prices range from RMB 4,280 to RMB 4,365 per ton, reaching a new high since August 2023.
International Market
- International Molybdenum Oxide Price: US$24.15-24.3 per pound of molybdenum, equivalent to approximately RMB 4,332-4,359 per ton.
- European Ferromolybdenum Price: US$55.4-56 per kilogram of molybdenum.
According to statistics, the price trend of Chinese molybdenum products in July 2025 was to initially increase, then stabilize, and then rise again. Molybdenum powder prices increased by nearly 8%.
The average prices of most molybdenum products in China increased both month-on-month and year-on-year. The average price of molybdenum concentrate was RMB 3,995/tonne, up 4.09% month-on-month and 7.62% year-on-year; the average price of ferromolybdenum was RMB 255,217/tonne, up 3.31% month-on-month and 6.57% year-on-year; the average price of molybdenum oxide was RMB 4,124/tonne, up 4.72% month-on-month and 8.36% year-on-year; the average price of sodium molybdate was RMB 180,826/tonne, up 5.90% month-on-month and 8.45% year-on-year; the average price of ammonium tetramolybdate was RMB 243,000/tonne, up 3.96% month-on-month and 6.23% year-on-year; the average price of ammonium heptamolybdate was RMB 247,174/tonne, up 3.53% month-on-month and 6.20% year-on-year; the average price of molybdenum powder was RMB 449/kg, up 2.05% month-on-month and 1.58% year-on-year; and the average price of molybdenum bars was RMB 478/kg, up 1.49% month-on-month and 1.27% year-on-year.
