Product production process
The production process of zirconium sheet metal mainly includes the following steps:
- Melting:
High purity zirconium ingots are obtained by vacuum arc melting (VAR) or electron beam melting (EBM), reducing impurities (Hf, O2)
- Hot rolling:
The zirconium ingot is heated to 750-900℃ (Zr702/Zr704) or higher (Zr705 needs to be protected from oxidation) and then hot rolled into thick slabs.
- Cold rolling:
Cold rolling to the required thickness (usually 0.5~20mm).
- Annealing:
Eliminate processing stress, improve plasticity and corrosion resistance.
- Surface treatment:
Pickling, polishing or passivation to remove the oxide layer.
- Cutting:
Cut into sheets or plates according to the size requirements.
