The addition of rhenium significantly improves ductility compared to pure tungsten, enabling easier forming, machining, and welding for precision components.
Product Application
Tungsten Rhenium Sheet can be used many industries:
- High temperature industry: high temperature furnace heating elements, heat shielding layers, crucibles, etc.
- Aerospace: rocket nozzles, turbine blades and other high temperature engine parts.
- Electronic devices: semiconductor chip substrates, high power electronic component electrodes.
- Nuclear industry: nuclear reactor structural materials, radiation resistance and high temperature cooling systems.
- Temperature measurement technology: as a thermocouple material, used for high temperature measurement.
Production Process

-Step1: Raw material preparation:
The raw materials are tungsten powder and ammonium rhenate powder. The particle size of tungsten powder is less than 4um, and the particle size of ammonium rhenate is less than 200um.
-Step2: Raw material separation:
Separate tungsten powder and ammonium rhenate powder in the separator to make the agglomerated particles fully dispersed.
-Step3: Mixing:
Put the tungsten powder and ammonium rhenate powder separated by the separator into the high-efficiency mixer for mixing. The mixing time is 10-24 hours.
-Step4: Reduction treatment:
The uniformly mixed alloy powder is reduced under hydrogen protection. The reduction treatment is divided into three stages:
Phase 1: reduction temperature 200-350° time: 1-2h
Phase 2: reduction temperature 400-600° time: 1-2h
Phase 3: reduction temperature 700-900° time: 1-2h
The treatment time of each stage depends on the treatment equipment conditions, furnace volume and loading amount.
-Step5: Second mixing:
The alloy powder after reduction is loaded into the high-efficiency mixer again for mixing, the mixing time is 8-20h.
-Step6: Pressing sintering
The alloy powder after the second mixing is pressed into billets, the billets are pre-sintered at a temperature of 1100-1300℃and under hydrogen protection for 0.4-1h, and the pre-sintered billets are finally vertically melted and sintered at a temperature of 2600-3000℃and under hydrogen protection for 1-2h.
-Step7: Rolling
The sintered slabs are repeatedly rolled on the rolling mill until the required thickness is reached.
