Zirconium tungsten electrode (WZr electrode) is a welding material, which is a composite electrode made of two metals, zirconium and tungsten. It contains a small amount of zirconium oxide (ZrO2). Zirconium mainly plays the role of enhancing oxidation and eliminating grain boundary defects, while tungsten is used to improve the tensile strength and dimensional stability of the material. This electrode can effectively work stably at high temperatures due to its high melting point and low evaporation rate, and will not be damaged by corrosive substances in the working environment.
The development of WZr electrode is to improve the disadvantage that pure tungsten electrode is easy to melt and contaminate the workpiece under high-load welding conditions.
In AC welding, WZr electrode is the most commonly used, because it is easier to start an arc than pure tungsten during welding, and the arc beam is stable. It can also prevent pollution well and has good current carrying capacity. From the perspective of performance, it is generally the best non-radioactive tungsten electrode.

Product Composition
The common brand names of zirconium tungsten electrodes include WZ3 and WZ8.
Among them, the oxide zirconium (ZrO2) content of WZ3 is 0.2-0.4%, and the color code tip is brown;
